Synology Launches a New SSD Line and All-Flash NAS
Synology Inc. launched a series of solid-state drives that covers 2.5” SATA, M.2 2280, and M.2 22110 form factors and a new all-flash storage solution – the Synology FlashStation 3600 NAS. The new SSDs are built to provide consistent high performance with low latency and meet today’s increasingly demanding environments, such as virtualization workloads, high traffic volume database storage, and AI and HPC projects.
Synology SAT5200 SATA Series SSDs are expected to deliver up to 98K IOPS read and 67K IOPS write in 4K random with minimal performance degradation across the drive’s lifespan. They also come with power-loss protection and end-to-end data path protection and provide enhanced data durability, minimizing service disruptions due to data corruption. The new SSD drives are available in 480GB to 1.92TB capacities.
The Synology SNV3400 and SNV3500 NVMe Series make a good option for using in Synology NAS that have the M.2 bays on the bottom for caching. Both drives come in a capacity of 400GB and are quoted to offer 3.1GB/s read, 550MB/s write, with throughputs of 205K IOPS read and 40K IOPS write.
The company has also released two adaptors, the Synology M2D20 and E10M20-T1. These two adaptors let users take advantage of all the benefits of the above mentioned M.2 drives. Both models are designed to boost I/O performance and streamline storage experience. The E10M20-T1 can be a good option for users who want to simultaneously increase storage and networking performance because it additionally supports multi-gigabit (5/2.5GbE) standards.
Synology FlashStation 3600 features Intel Xeon 12-core processor, delivers over 195,000 4K random write IOPS, and supports scaling up to 72 drives. It is designed to support a wide range of applications, such as virtualization, big data analysis, OLTP, deep learning and AI training, or high-resolution video post-production. The NAS is also optimized for for peak stability in any business environment.
The new Synology products are designed to meet the increasing demand for faster and more responsive storage solutions and are said to deliver reliability and stability in demanding settings. But like all storage media, they may fail, and their owners will need to seek reliable data recovery services provider to get the critical data back. ACE Data recovery team can successfully recover data from SSDs and NAS of different makes and models and will gladly Synology SSD and NAS owners with their data recovery needs.
